About

In times of labor shortages, acquiring and retaining talent is a strategic task for every employer. Onboarding plays an important role for that purpose. According to several studies, poor onboarding can leave the new hires with lower confidence in their new roles, worsened engagement, and an increased risk of leaving when they see a more attractive job opportunity. On the other hand, companies that have a formal onboarding program could see 50% greater employee retention and 62% greater productivity among new recruits. But even before the pandemic, more than one-third of companies did not have a structured onboarding process, remote or otherwise. A well-designed onboarding process based on digital technologies like e-learning, Virtual Reality, etc. can dramatically improve new hires’ experience and help them achieve confidence and proficiency in their new roles. It can decrease onboarding time and cost and improve performance of employers and VET organizations that provide training along the onboarding.
